Living Deliberately

Went to Boston with Gita and Carina this weekend.  It was awesome.  On saturday we explored the pond where Thoreau wrote Walden.  Apparently he wrote the book about isolation and naturalism in a cabin only 30 minutes from his parents…cop out!  It was about a 3 mile hike around.  A little too easy for my tastes but a great getaway from the city.  Gita’s friend Michael whipped us all up some tiramisu as we got ready for the night.  We partied it up in a lame Boston club and pondered whether we’d think everywhere was lame now that we are “New Yorkers”.  Hope not.

On Sunday me & car walked the city’s Freedom trail.  Apparently they call Boston the walking city, and the freedom trail is painted on the ground so that you can walk through the 16 most historic sites of the city.  Most of the stops were related to the founding of america, the boston massacre, revolutionary war stuff.  It was a history buff’s dream.  Our final stop was at Cheers to grab some beer.  The most striking thing about Boston to me was how quaint it was.  The streets are a lot wider and the people less intense than ny..but I love the pace of the place.  People don’t walk, they stroll :) Also the cost of living there was soooo much cheaper.  We pre-gamed at this apartment in the heart of the city and a dude was paying only $500 for a good sized room.

Aside - On a date last week, this boy asked what my passions are.  I told him tons.  He said those are my interests, not my passions.  Touche.

I don’t know a lot about life, but i feel like I’m figuring it out so much more here than in the west coast.  I know that I love exploring. I know I love people.  Though I deny it I love partying and a quality stout.  I love spontaneity and random shit and obsessing.  Love music and female vocalists and heart songs.  I love falling in love and men and long intense conversations.  I do love being outdoors but I don’t know which hobby is my favorite yet (we’re going indoor climbing next wknd..hope this one sticks!).
